The Preah Sihanouk provincial administration has warned several families not to be fooled by the claims of land brokers who sold them land which belongs to Canadia Bank Plc.

As public transport services have been planned for Sihanoukville and are likely to emerge in the near future, civil society organizations working to improve road safety have suggested that the government establish such services in other provinces, especially in Siem Reap where the population in town is growing.

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport and the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administration are studying the feasibility of launching a public transport system with 300 buses operating in Sihanoukville before expanding throughout the coastal province.

The Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administration welcomed a joint statement by China and Cambodia that said they will examine the feasibility of developing an “Industrial and Technological Corridor” to achieve the development vision of the province as a “Model Multi-Purpose Special Economic Zone” (SEZ).

Local company HTTH Island Investment Co Ltd is reportedly studying the feasibility of a 16.68sq km “eco-tourism” development project on Koh Thmey island, just southeast of Prey Nop district’s Ream National Park in Preah Sihanouk province.
