LPG cylinder price reduced! After increasing rate by Rs 125 last month, oil firms slash cooking gas price by Rs 10


LPG cylinder price new rate: In some relief to all households, state-run oil firms have decided to slash LPG cylinder price by Rs 10. The decision is likely to give some relief to common man who had to pay Rs 125 extra after these oil firms raised the price by that amount last month. The decision to slash LPG cylinder price comes on the heels of softening international oil prices.

With this reduction in price of cooking gas on Wednesday,  a 14.2-kg LPG gas cylinder — both for subsidised and market price users — will cost Rs 809 from April 1 as against Rs 819 currently, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) said in a statement.

LPG price hike: Cooking gas becomes dearer by Rs 25, to cost Rs 819 in Delhi
The price of cooking gas has been hurting common man for the past few weeks. Oil companies on Monday again hiked the LPG cylinder price by Rs 25. With the latest increase, price of a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder is Rs 819 in Delhi. 
The cooking gas price has risen sharply by over Rs 100 a cylinder in the month of February. Today's increase is second hike in four days. The prices were increased by Rs 25 just three days ago -- third hike in the month of February. Earlier, the prices were increased on February 4 and February 14 by Rs Rs 25 and Rs 50, respectively.

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder prices in the country have been hiked. Almost every house in the country has an LPG connection which is mainly used for cooking purposes. Hence, the increase in the price of LPG cylinders will affect almost every household in India.

The Indian Oil Corporation has left the price of non-subsidised LPG cylinders unchanged at existing levels on January 1. However, the commercial customers will have to shell out an additional Rs 17 per cylinder.
In Delhi and Mumbai, the price of non-subsidised LPG (14.2 kgs) remained at Rs 694 per cylinder. In Kolkata, people will have to shell out Rs 720.50 per cylinder and Rs 710 in Chennai, according to Indian Oil Corporation's website.
Those buying the commercial cylinders will pay Rs 1349 in Delhi, Rs 1410 in Kolkata, Rs 1297.50 in Kolkata and Rs 1463.50 in Chennai.
Indian Oil is the country's largest fuel retailer, supplies LPG. The government gives 12 cooking gas cylinders (14.2 kgs) each to households in a year at a subsidised rate.
