A work group has been dispatched by the Ministry of Emergency Management to oversee the rescue operation to reach 18 people trapped underground after a mine collapsed in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
Rescuers are trying every means to reach the 18 workers trapped underground after a cave-in at a gold mine at around 1 pm on Saturday in Yining county, Northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.
Twenty two of the 40 workers were rescued after the mine collapsed.
