The TTY demystified

The TTY demystified
Real teletypes in the 1940s.
The TTY subsystem is central to the design of Linux, and UNIX in general.
Unfortunately, its importance is often overlooked, and it is difficult to find
good introductory articles about it. I believe that a basic understanding of
TTYs in Linux is essential for the developer and the advanced user.
Beware, though: What you are about to see is not particularly elegant. In
fact, the TTY subsystem — while quite functional from a user's point of
view — is a twisty little mess of special cases. To understand how this
came to be, we have to go back in time.

Leak claims to show new iPhone case colors, including Cantaloupe

An image from a Twitter leaker with no previous track record, appears to show that Apple is to release at least four new iPhone 12 cases, in different colors.
Last year, Apple released a series of cases in spring colors for the iPhone 11 range in mid-March. Now it's rumored that it is about to do the same for the current iPhone 12 range, according to an image leaked on Twitter.
The leaker, called "Tommy Boi" and claiming to be from Seoul in the Republic of Korea, has no previous track record in reporting Apple leaks. However, the colors are mostly the same as a recent leak of MagSafe case ones.

Court warns Apple and Epic against 'surprises' ahead of May 3 trial

The court dealing with the May 3 Apple and Epic trial over App Store rules has used a motion denial to remind the two sides that the trial is meant for measured consideration of evidence, not "surprises."
In the filing published on Monday in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers denies a motion by Apple to prevent Epic from allowing certain third-party witnesses from taking part in the Apple-Epic trial.
Apple motioned to the court to exclude three third-party witnesses for Epic, namely Vivek Sharma of Facebook, Microsoft's Lori Wright, and Benjamin Simon of Yoga Buddhi. Apple reckoned that Epic violated rules for failing to disclose the witnesses as individuals, as it had instead listed their employers.

Apple TV+ launches new 'Mythic Quest' season 2 trailer

Continuing its build up to the May 7, 2021 premiere of hit comedy "Mythic Quest," Apple TV+ has released a new two-minute trailer.
Apple has already released a teaser video, a "Testers" promo, and even a special bonus episode. Now, though, Apple TV+ has unveiled the official trailer for season two of "Mythic Quest."
The two-minute trailer is chiefly an expanded version of the teaser, concentrating on the same story elements — and revealing the same cameo appearance by Snoop Dogg. The trailer also shows more of this workplace comedy's team getting used to, and enjoying, the benefits of remote working.
Season 2 will debut on Friday, May 7. It's set to follow the development of an expansion pack for season 1's "Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet" game, starting with the team's total absence of any ideas.
