WOOD RIVER — Nearly 140,000 COVID-19 vaccinations now have been administered in Madison County, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
The IDPH on Monday reported a total of 138,848 COVID-19 vaccinations so far have been administered in Madison County.
That included 79,954 first doses and 58,894 — or 22.27% of the county’s population — now fully vaccinated.
The Madison County Health Department has said the actual numbers for both vaccination categories are higher than the IDPH figures.
The county this week is expanding COVID-19 vaccinations opportunities. In addition to its vaccination clinic at the Gateway Convention Center in Collinsville, the health department is planning vaccinations:

WOOD RIVER — Three COVID-19 related deaths were reported late Monday by the Madison County Health Department.
The deceased included a man in his 40s, a woman in her 60s and a woman in her 90s. To date, 469 people have died from COVID-19 in Madison County. They were the first COVID-19 related deaths reported in the county since Thursday.
The Illinois Department of Public Health on Tuesday was reporting two Madison County deaths — a woman in her 60s and a woman in her 90s — among 19 additional COVID-19 related deaths in the state.

WOOD RIVER — Nearly a fourth of Madison County residents have now received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
On Wednesday, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported 94,666 vaccinations had been administered in Madison County. The IDPH said 60,323 first vaccine doses — or 24.45% of the population — had been given and 34,343 residents, or 12.99% of the population, were fully vaccinated.
The Madison County Health Department has said the actual numbers for both vaccination categories is higher than the IDPH figures. At 2 p.m. Wednesday the county health department was reporting all vaccine appointment times for Thursday, Friday and Sunday had been filled.

WOOD RIVER — Every Illinoisan might be able to get a COVID-19 vaccination by the end of April, according to Gov. J.B. Pritzker.
President Joe Biden on Thursday said he would advise states to make a vaccine available to every adult by May 1. Pritzker said Illinois may act sooner.
“I’m excited about the fact that we will be able to get to more and more people across the state of Illinois and I’m confident that not by just May 1, but maybe even a little bit earlier, we could open up to everyone in the state,” Pritzker said.

WOOD RIVER — Nearly 10% of Madison County residents are now fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
On Thursday the Illinois Department of Health reported a total of 78,069 vaccinations had been administered in the county. The IDPH reported 52,074 first vaccine doses — or 21.1% of the population — had been given and 25,995 residents, or 9.83% of the population, were fully vaccinated.
The Madison County Health Department has said the actual numbers for both vaccination categories is higher than the IDPH figures.
The IDPH on Thursday also reported that 16.93% of Jersey County was fully vaccinated. Other fully vaccinated rates were 11.91% of Macoupin County, 15.83% of Calhoun County and 16.93% of Greene County.

WOOD RIVER — Nearly 75,000 people in Madison County have received at least one COVID-19 vaccination, according to figures released Tuesday by the Illinois Department of Health.
The IDPH reported 73,066 vaccinations had been recorded as of Monday. That included 50,704 first vaccine doses — or 19.17% of the population — given and 22,362 residents, or 8.46% of the population, fully vaccinated.
The Madison County Health Department has said the actual number of both vaccinations is higher than the IDPH figures.
Madison County residents who have internet and computer access should schedule their COVID-19 appointments at www.madisonchd.org. People who do not use a computer can call 618-650-8445 for first dose appointments when available.

WOOD RIVER — The Madison County Health Department and Madison County Community Development (MCCD) are mailing 23,965 postcards to residents 65 and older on how to schedule an vaccination appointment.
Information includes where to find links for scheduling an appointment online and the phone number to call for scheduling an appointment.
Although the health department provides vaccine information via The Telegraph and other media, its website, the COVID-19 Response Hub and social media channels, county officials said many seniors may not be seeing the messages.

WOOD RIVER — More than 68,000 Madison County residents had receive at least one COVID-19 vaccination as of Sunday morning, according to the Illinois Deepartment of Public Health.
The Madison County Health Department held vaccination clinics Saturday and Sunday at Lewis & Clark Community College in Godfrey. The health department also is planning vaccinations at LaMay’s Catering in Alton on Monday and the Gateway Convention Center in Collinsville on Monday and Tuesday.
