Many countries are sending emergency use equipment to India to fight COVID-19
Around 15 countries including the US, Russia, France and the United Kingdom are rushing critical emergency use equipment to enable India counter the COVID-19’s deadly second wave. A compilation from the Ministry of External Affairs showed that countries are sending hundreds of oxygen concentrators, respirators and large quantities of liquid oxygen to help ease the difficult situation facing India.

Maharashtra Covid-19 Vaccination: Over 1.22 Crore People Vaccinated In Maharashtra So Far


COVID-19 Vaccination: So far, 87,86,940 aged above 45 have received their first dose.

A total of 1,22,83,050 people have so far received the COVID-19 vaccine in Maharashtra, the state government said on Monday.
On Sunday, 1,27,079 beneficiaries received the jabs in 1,515 sessions, an official statement said.
So far, 10,67,486 health care workers have received their first dose of vaccine, it said, adding that 5,42,627 health care workers have got their second dose.
Similarly, 11,13,691 frontline workers have till now taken the first dose and 3,67,965 of them have been administered the second dose, it said.

So far, 87,86,940 aged above 45 have received their first dose and 4,04,341 have taken their second dose, the statement said.

Maharashtra Covid-19 vaccination drive will resume on Tuesday: CM | Mumbai News

MUMBAI: Amidst uncertainty over resumption of the suspended Covid-19 vaccination drive in Maharashtra, chief minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday said the exercise will begin on Tuesday at 285 centres.
The CM took stock of the preparations for the drive at a meeting held with state chief secretary Sanjay Kumar, CM's principal advisor Ajoy Mehta, principal secretary to public health minister Dr Pradeep Vyas and other officials.
"The vaccination will take place four days a week starting Tuesday (January 19). Vaccination will be conducted on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 285 centres in Maharashtra. 100 beneficiaries will be inoculated per centre in one day," the CM said.

No side-effects of Covid-19 vaccine in Maharashtra so far: Rajesh Tope | Mumbai News

MUMBAI: There has been no case of adverse reaction or side-effects of Covid-19 vaccine in Maharashtra so far, state health minister Rajesh Tope said on Sunday, a day after the inoculation drive was undertaken across the country.
Talking to PTI, Tope also expressed confidence that 'everything will be safe'.
As many as 18,425 beneficiaries, or 65 per cent of the target for the first day, were given vaccine shot across the state on Saturday, a health department official earlier said.
"There has absolutely been no report of any adverse reaction or side-effects of the vaccine following the drive on Saturday. Everything was safe, it will be safe," Tope said.
