Mumbai: Students worry about city traffic ahead of HSC 2023 board exam

The HSC board exams are to be conducted in two shifts, the morning exam is to go on from 11:00 am to 02:10 pm while the afternoon slot will go on from 03:00 pm to 06:10 pm.

Amid a surge in Covid-19 cases across the state, Maharashtra Education Department is mulling over the postponement of the upcoming board exams. The education department officials are finalizing a plan for the upcoming board exams which includes a proposal to postpone it. The probability of board exams getting postponed is high as the cases of coronavirus in the state is increasing rapidly.
Maharashtra's school education minister Varsha Gaikwad told TOI, “I can’t say anything at this moment but, yes, a final decision will be taken this week itself. I will meet with various stakeholders and see what their views are about exams. Then we will have to seek the consent from chief minister’s office (CMO) as well regarding the final proposal.”

As the dates for board exams of the several state boards along with CBSE and CISCE out, students are now preparing for the Class 10 and Class 12 exams.
Many exams were postponed and bords cancelled few papers due to the COVID-19 pandemic and followed lockdown in 2020. This year also, although the exam schedules are out, many boards are making changes in the final schedule.
In addition to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the CISCE and several states including Maharashtra, West Bengal, Rajasthan have declared the timetable and dates for the class 10 and class 12 board exams which are slated to be held in 2021.

Students appearing for Class 12 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) board examinations will be allowed to appear for the chosen optional subjects this year, directed the state school education department. The department released a government resolution (GR) on Monday allowing students of HSC board one last chance to appear for optional subject exams that were not in the Group A, B and C option given to junior colleges.
