Timaru's Christmas star to move to new location
JOHN BISSET/STUFF The Wellingtonian Star light at the top of the Champagne tree on Wa-iti Road shines brightly over Timaru for Christmas 2020. One of Timaru’s tallest trees will no longer host the town's Christmas star. The 34-metre tree, on the Wai-iti Rd property of Gary and Robyn Borland, has been illuminated by the Timaru District Council's decorative star every festive season since 2003, but that will come to an end this Christmas, with access to the site, now neighbouring a housing development, deemed “limited'’.
