Daily Mail* says ICC pitch consultant has raised concerns over pitch changes “without proper notice or forewarning”.
Mumbai, Nov 15 (IANS) The first semi-final of the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, to be played between India and New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday afternoon, will be played on a used pitch instead of a fresh surface.
Reports also suggest that the previously agreed upon pitch for the final in Ahmedabad has also been changed by the host association.
Reports suggest a pitch switch at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium for India's ICC World Cup semi-final against New Zealand. The originally chosen pitch has been replaced with one that has already been used twice in the tournament. The switch is believed to favor Indian spinners. The pitch consultant, Andy Atkinson, raised concerns about the change and questioned the fairness of pitch selection for the final match as well.
