Christopher Mark Britton has already pleaded not guilty to one count of murder, which allegedly occurred 25 years ago. It is alleged Mr Britton shot his mother in the face on or about March 6, 1996 at Jubilee Pocket. Premium Content Subscriber only A woman has relived the gruesome moment she found her mother-in-law shot to death in her Jubilee Pocket home during a murder trial against her brother in law. “I saw mum on the bed, the back of her head was split open,” Maxine Britton told Mackay Supreme court on Monday afternoon. “There was a spot of blood on her left cheek.” She was the first person to find Dorothy Britton in 1997 after she had been asked by her mother-in-law’s husband Ian Britton to check on her when she failed to answer the phone on March 7.
