A DISQUALIFIED driver who refused to provide a breath sample, both at the roadside and at the police station, has been sentenced. Matthew Rawson, 34, of Britannia Way, East Cowes, appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court on Tuesday. He admitted driving while disqualified, using a car without insurance, and driving without due care and attention. He also admitted failing to provide a specimen for analysis. A former chief executive at Destination Rotorua, Rawson moved to Nelson in 2016 to head the newly formed NRDA – a merger of Nelson Tasman Tourism and the Economic Development Agency.
