After the resumption of Tatkal registration for the Amarnath Yatra, hundreds of devotees queued up at the on-the-spot booking counters. Devotees are patiently waiting in long queues, braving hot and humid weather conditions to get a registration token. There are five counters set up for Tatkal registration for the Yatra. The shelter and drinking water facilities at the registration spots are inadequate, according to devotees.

The Tirupati Balaji temple was opened to devotees on the outskirts of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, officials said. Amid chanting of mantras, Jammu and Kashmir lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha, Union ministers Dr Jitendra Singh and G Kishen Reddy inaugurated the temple of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy at the Majeen area.
