Wednesday night preview: Adelaide United v Macarthur FC - April 14

Adelaide United will approach a Matchweek 16 encounter with Macarthur FC intent on getting revenge on the Bulls when the two sides meet at Coopers Stadium on Wednesday, April 14.

Macarthur dominated Adelaide in a 4-0 victory at Campbelltown Stadium on February 12. Matt Derbyshire scored three and Mark Milligan added a rare goal to his tally to seal an impressive home win for the Bulls.

Perth Glory travel to face Newcastle Jets on Tuesday, April 13 with the sole intention of halting a two-game losing streak and rejoining the hunt for a spot in the 2020/21 Finals Series.
Richard Garcia's men last tasted victory against the Jets at HBF Park in Matchweek 14, but consecutive losses to Macarthur FC and Sydney FC in Matchweek 15 were to follow, leaving Perth out of the Finals Series conversation leading into Tuesday night's clash with the Jets.
The visitors are bolstered by the return of attacking star Chris Ikonomidis. Glory boss Richard Garcia confirmed the 25-year-old would be part of the travelling squad, however it's unclear how much game time the forward would receive against the Jets on return from a knee injury sustained in February, 2020.

Matchday Saturday preview: A-League, Westfield W-League - March 20

GOAL: Longo winner against Perth in Round 12 keeps Victory form rolling ahead of Big Blue
Canberra United, meanwhile, travel to face Newcastle Jets at No. 2 Sportsground (kick-off 6.35pm AEDT) with the hopes of securing a win to climb back into the top four.
The Green Machine trail Adelaide United in fourth by one point, but have a game in hand on the Reds.
A win over the Jets would heap the pressure on Adelaide to secure three points against Western Sydney Wanderers on Sunday, March 21 - their last game of the season - to set Canberra the task of overtaking them once more in their final game of the season in Round 14.

Matchweek 10 preview: Perth Glory v Central Coast Mariners

The A-League leading Central Coast Mariners face arguably the toughest test of their Premiership credentials yet when they travel west to face in-form Perth Glory on Tuesday.
Richard Garcia’s side have strung together three straight wins since suffering back-to-back late collapses while losing thrillers against Melbourne Victory and Western United in January.
Diego Castro, Bruno Fornaroli and company have showcased their attacking prowess in taking maximum-points hauls against Melbourne City, Adelaide United and Brisbane Roar, 3-1 on Friday.
The sixth-placed club remain the competition’s top scorers with 18 goals, and the only team that has scored more than Alen Stajcic’s early-season front-runners, who are four-points clear at the top of the ladder despite not playing for 11 days since their 3-2 loss against Adelaide.

Matchweek 10 preview: Sydney FC v Macarthur FC

Macarthur FC will be driven by multiple motivating factors to get a positive result over Sydney FC when the two sides meet at Nestrata Jubilee Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
It's the second time Macarthur and Sydney meet this season after the Sky Blues cruised to a 3-0 win in Matchweek 6. An early red card to Bulls captain Mark Milligan in that fixture severely hindered Macarthur's ability to put up a genuine fight in the contest which ended in a routine victory for the Champions.
The Bulls went three games unbeaten after losing to the Sky Blues before suffering a heavy defeat in their most recent hit-out, losing 4-1 to Western United.

Brisbane Roar will be determined to end a two-game winless run and rediscover their early season form against Sydney FC at Nestrata Jubilee Stadium on Saturday night.
After losing their first fixture of the new campaign Warren Moon's Roar outfit went on a four-game winning streak before faltering of late, losing to Macarthur FC in Matchweek 7 and playing out a 0-0 stalemate with Newcastle Jets in their last outing.
Brisbane sit in third on the A-League table despite the stagnation, ahead of the Sky Blues in fifth by three points leading into the Matchweek 9 clash.
Sydney FC have two games in hand over the Roar and the significant ascendancy throughout recent fixtures between the two sides, having won four and drawn one of their last six games against the Queenslanders.

Matchweek 9 preview: Melbourne Victory v Newcastle Jets

Melbourne Victory emerge from Victoria's recent five-day lockdown to take on Newcastle Jets at AAMI Park on Sunday afternoon.
Victory are winless in three after two successive defeats at the hands of Western Sydney Wanderers and Brisbane Roar followed a 0-0 draw with Western United in Matchweek 6.
The recent run of results sent Victory to the foot of the A-League table, and the challenges don't get any easier for Grant Brebner's side this weekend with a constantly improving Jets outfit coming to town
Newcastle are on a four-game unbeaten streak (W2, D2) heading into the contest at AAMI Park, conceding three goals in the process. Craig Deans has his side fighting for every point after losing their first four games of the 2020/21 A-League campaign.

Matchweek 9 preview: Wellington Phoenix v Western Sydney Wanderers

Western Sydney Wanderers will be looking to extended their unbeaten A-League run to seven games on their travels to face Wellington Phoenix at WIN Stadium on Sunday night.
Wellington began Matchweek 9 on four points, level with Melbourne Victory at the foot of the A-League table.
With just one win and six goals generated throughout Wellington's first six games of the 2020/21 campaign, Phoenix head coach Ufuk Talay will be hoping his side can produce a far more productive attacking showing against the Red and Black - who are yet to concede from open play this season.
Unbeaten in six games (W3, D3), The Wanderers are rolling under the tutelage of Carl Robinson. The Welshman has orchestrated the solid run of form shown since his side lost 1-0 to Macarthur FC in the opening game of the 2020/21 A-League season.

Brisbane Roar and Macarthur FC meet at Dolphin Stadium on Tuesday night with the Roar looking to rejoin Central Coat Mariners on top of the A-League table.
It's a second Matchweek 7 fixture for both sides after the Roar and Bulls both played out entertaining contests on Saturday. First, Warren Moon's Brisbane handily defeated Melbourne Victory 5-2 before Macarthur and Western Sydney Wanderers engaged in a memorable 2-2 draw in Campbelltown.
The Bulls are winless in two and Brisbane will be out to condemn their visitors to another negative result as they hunt a fifth win on the bounce.

Matchweek 1 preview: Western United v Adelaide United

Samuel Green

Italian ace Alessandro Diamanti and Western United were one of the major stories of last season and the second-year club raise the curtain on the A-League 2020/21 campaign with a clash against Adelaide United in Geelong.
Flamboyant playmaker Diamanti lit up the competition as Mark Rudan's Green and Black marked their debut campaign with a trip to the Finals Series and a knockout win against Brisbane Roar before falling at the penultimate hurdle, in the Semi-Final, against Melbourne City.
The team from Melbourne's west have retained the majority of the players that led them to great highs, adding ex-Melbourne City flyer Lachie Wales and Barcelona old boy Victor Sanchez, and they first come up against a Reds outfit aiming to re-establish themselves under newly-appointed permanent head coach Carl Veart.
