The Labour Party in Ogun State has insisted that expelled member and Director-General, Doyin Okupe, was financially handicapped before joining the Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Council (PCC). The party executives, Michael Ashade and Abayomi Arambambi, claimed on Saturday that Okupe allegedly went on to steal N100million campaign funds after joining the PCC. Ashade, state party chairman, said they were levelling charges of “financial impropriety” against Okupe who until his expulsion, served as the PCC’s director general. 

Michael Ashade, chairman of the Labour Party (LP) in Ogun state, has accused Doyin Okupe of mishandling a N20 million mobilisation.

The Ogun State chapter of the Labour Party has expelled the party’s Director General of the Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Doyin Okupe, for failure to perform his financial membership status in the past six months contrary to the dictate of the party’s constitution.
