Asia Pacific, 29 April 2021 – Since the launch of the Microsoft APAC Enabler program seven months ago, sixteen PwDs have secured full time roles, internships, mentorships[i], and training[ii] opportunities through the program, with more than 110 PwDs currently being matched to 65 potential roles with Microsoft Partners.
Sri Lanka joins Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, South Korea and New Zealand, where non-profits like Enable Lanka Foundation and the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities educate and train Partners on creating inclusive workplaces and being inclusive employers. These nonprofits join 19 other Microsoft Partners including ZILLIONe Systems Solutions, Redstone System, and DDLS Philippines to remove barriers for a more diverse workforce. ....

To improve workplace inclusivity, the Microsoft Enabler Program provides cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) training for persons with disabilities (PWDs), accessibility education for employers, and inclusive hiring from non-profit organizations (NPOs) supporting PWDs.
“Accessibility education for employers is going beyond sensitization training. It’s having a knowledge base where the employees of the organization can access training and information that would help them in their decision-making process when it comes to accessibility, diversity, and inclusion at large,” said Ryan D. Gervasa, founder and president of Virtualahan, a non-profit social enterprise that has been a key partner in Microsoft’s local efforts to make the workplace more diverse. ....

Microsoft’s Enabler Program proves that with strong support and equal access to employment, persons with disabilities (PWD) can contribute to the country’s economy.
The Microsoft Enabler Program was launched in September 2020 to pioneer disability-inclusive workplaces across Asia-Pacific by removing the barriers for a more diverse workforce. Pinoy PWDs get hired via Microsoft’s Enabler Program

The Microsoft Enabler Program, which was launched in September 2020 to pioneer disability inclusive workplaces across Asia-Pacific, has allowed a number of Filipino PWDs (persons with disabilities) to be employed locally.
A first of its kind globally, the program provides cloud and AI training for PWDs, accessibility education for employer partners and inclusive hiring from non-profit organizations (NPOs) supporting PWDs.
“There are 650 million PWDs in the Asia-Pacific region alone, making accessibility and providing inclusive opportunities absolutely critical,” said Fides Ricasa, Microsoft Philippines chief partner officer.
“This is imperative to us as an organization, especially in the world we live in today. Access to digital skills and employment opportunities must be given to every community and individual as we look to rebuild our economies.” ....
