Shortly after confirming that one expired Microsoft digital certificate lead to various problems with Windows 11 apps such as the Snipping Tool, Touch Keyboard, Voice Typing, Emoji Panel, Getting started and Tips, as well as other areas, the company issued an out-of-band update to iron them out.

Microsoft inadvertently let a Windows 11 certificate expire, taking down some features of Windows 11, including several features like Start and Settings in Windows 11 Home in S Mode. A patch is en route.
