Lake Regional hits grim milestone as 1 in 3 patients is COVID-19 positive


Lake Regional Health System said their COVID-positive inpatient census is at 24, including seven patients on ventilators.
OSAGE COUNTY - Lake Regional Health System sent out a news release Wednesday that they had “hit a milestone that never hoped to see again.”
Their COVID-positive inpatient census has reached 24 and seven of those patients are on ventilators.
“Among our inpatient census, one in three patients is COVID-positive. About one-third of those patients require assistance to breathe," the press release said.
According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS), Miller County has a positivity rate of 13.98% in the last seven days. Camden County has a 14.86% in the past seven days.

Three Mid-Missouri counties reported eight COVID-19 related deaths in their latest dashboard updates.
Callaway County Health Department reported four new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths since April 4 to 44. It is the fifth death this month and 14th since Jan. 1.
The county has reported 3,859 coronavirus cases and 72 residents currently are infected.
Missouri COVID-19 Vaccine dashboard is reporting 5,675 Callaway County residents have received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
Miller County Health Center reported one new death, bringing the total number of deaths since Aug. 4 to 55. It is the fifth death this month and seventh since Jan. 1.

Miller County Health Center is reporting three COVID-19 related deaths.
The county now has recorded 54 deaths since the county first reported a coronavirus related death in August. The county has reported four coronavirus deaths this month and six this year.
The health center reported 22 new total cases since their last update on Feb. 2.
There are currently 20 active cases in the county.
The county has reported 1,550 vaccine doses administered accounting for 6.1% of the population.
Boone County reports lowest number of active cases since Aug. 13
Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services is reporting 45 new COVID-19 cases.

WEDNESDAY UPDATES: Miller County Health Center to partner with Lake Regional Health Systems for vaccine clinics
Miller County Health Center is joining with Lake Regional Health Systems to host a variety of vaccine clinics throughout the county.
These clinics are appointment only and the vaccine will be free.
The health center in a Facebook post says it combined the contact list with Lake Regional’s and established a pool of staff to begin calling those on the lists, starting with those that have been on the list the longest.
The call center will contact you to schedule your appointment.
Clinics will be scheduled as vaccine arrives at either LRHS or our agency.
