6 companies receive funding for mining exploration in N.W.T.

Five companies each received $100,000 from the federal and territorial governments, while a sixth company received almost $40,000, to do some mining exploration in the N.W.T.

Helping to renew exploration activity - Arctic Journal

Arctic Journal NWT The GNWT is helping to support mining companies by investing $100,000 in projects under the Mining Incentive Program (MIP).  The four recipients of the early December announcement include Cheetah Resources, Gold Terra Resources, StrategX Elements Corp., and BNT Gold Resources.  In August, the MIP invested $1 million in 19 mineral exploration projects. Seven of those companies are exploring for gold, diamonds, lead, zinc, rare earths, and other minerals. These companies included Fortune Minerals, North Arrow Minerals and Pine Point Mining.  TAGS
