Mississippi and ohio rivers. this is the confluence of the ohio river on the left side, and the mississippi on the right. and last night at this time, they were nearly touching each other on this road. so at least for the time being, that effort has worked here. the waters have come down somewhat. but further down river, that's certainly not the case. not everybody happy about it, especially on the missouri side. >> almost a week after tornados ransacked tuscaloosa, alabama, the mayor's office says more than 300 people are still missing. the tornado separated one couple for 27 agonizing hours....

Okay to intentionally breach a levee along the mississippi river to try and spare a number of towns along the missouri side and illinois side and the state of missouri tried to stop the army corps of engineers from blowing up a 2,000 foot hole into the levee and illinois argued it would drop the rising water levels an ease record flooding up streaming and they will make a breach in that levee and we will watch the farmland beneath it get flooded. what will be the impact of this? will it be enough to stave off what could be historic flooding along the mississippi river? more on that in a moment...
