Xiaomi has prefaced its launch for its latest 13 series of flagship smartphones with an introduction to the new software the devices will run out of the box. MIUI 14 is based on Android 13, and is rated to bring improvements in terms of user privacy, UI layout and system resource usage with it. The new OS is also backed to improve control over connected devices throughout the home and the user's life.

Xiaomi continues to tease MIUI 14 on social media, having recently confirmed the OS update’s inclusion in the forthcoming Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. Arriving on December 1, Xiaomi claims it enacted ‘Project Razor’ last year to improve MIUI in three major areas.

According to a Xiaomi executive responsible for the company's smartphone software, MIUI 14 will launch as a considerably more streamlined and less bloated OS than its predecessor. Not only has the executive teased that MIUI 14 will run more smoothly than MIUI 13, but they have also finally revealed MIUI 14's logo too.

Xiaomi has unveiled the Redmi Pad, a mid-range Android tablet that comes in two memory configurations and three colours. Available from €279.90 until October 7, the Redmi Pad features a large 90 Hz display and a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset.

There’ll be some time before Xiaomi unveils the next-gen MIUI build, but the alleged MIUI 14 screenshots have surfaced online. They are said to be of MIUI 14 development version 22.7.19. Let’s see the new MIUI 14 features.
