I believe the professor was well-intentioned wanting to help the foreign students assimilate and get on better in a predominantly english-speaking country. i wouldn't call it a mob mentality we've seen with other issues on college campuses. it is important to represent foreign students and their feelings about something like this, but it is an important conversation to be having. we are now essentially a dual-speaking nation with english and spanish. this is targeting, i believe, predominantly chinese students which wouldn't end up being our third language. i would imagine if we would have one...
