BACOLOD CITY - The Provincial Health Office (PHO) of Negros Occidental is taking measures to address the 282 percent increase in local dengue cases as of the third week of May. Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said on Tuesday the figures can be considered "alarming," but he noted the rise in cases is part of a three-year cycle of a surge in the number of the mosquito-borne disease. "Our PHO is aware of the situation and taking remedial measures, mostly reminding people to keep our surroundings clean," he added.
