The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced Rani Agrawal as its candidate for the Singrauli seat in the upcoming Madhya Pradesh assembly elections. The party has released the names of 70 candidates so far out of 230. Agrawal will be up against candidates from the BJP and Congress. The AAP is looking to build on its success in the local body elections last year and is contesting all 230 seats in the state assembly polls. AAP leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann are focusing on the Vindhya region during the campaign.

Indore, Oct 19 (PTI) Transgenders in Madhya Pradesh claim that neither any political party nor any candidate contesting the upcoming state assembly elections is talking about the issues related to the members of the community, especially their health and the right to live life with dignity.

Madhya Pradesh higher education minister Dr Mohan Yadav has dismissed allegations of irregularities in the construction of 'Mahakal Lok', a corridor near the Lord Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain. The corridor was damaged in a storm earlier this year, leading to the Congress party accusing the ruling BJP of corruption. Yadav said that the damage was caused by a powerful windstorm and that the idols were replaced by the contractor at no extra cost. He also claimed that the Congress is raising the issue for political gain and that it will prove counterproductive.

Along with everyone, I want to thank you all, in a way this is my 'goodbye'. I have always tried to follow the footsteps of my mother, Rajmata Raje Scindia. It was with her inspiration that I took this decision, and today I pray to all of you that you all will support me in this decision."
