MUMBAI: Petrol price in Thane and Navi Mumbai have crossed the Rs 100-mark and is retailing at Rs 100.06 per litre. Diesel price is also at a record high of Rs 91.99 per litre.
Petrol price in Mumbai was also six paise shy of Rs 100 a litre on Thursday. It was retailing at Rs 99.94 a litre in the morning. Diesel too is at a new high price of Rs 91.87 per litre.
Activists have demanded that both Centre and state should rollback excise duty and VAT to some extent in order to give relief to consumers and bring down prices. The highest price of petrol in the state was in Parbhani where it was retailing at Rs 102.30 per litre on Tuesday. The highest diesel rate is Rs 93.34 in Amravati district.

New Delhi: Oil marketing companies on Saturday continued on the pause mode and decided against revising the petrol and diesel after cutting its retail rates on Tuesday.
Accordingly, pump price of petrol and diesel remained at previous days level of Rs 90.56 and Rs 80.87 a litre respectively in the capital.
Petrol and diesel fell by 22 paisa and 23 paisa per litre respectively on Tuesday in the wake global softening of oil prices. OMC have decide to pause price revision as crude has again gained and climbed up to close to $65 a barrel from a lower $ 60 a barrel earlier.

Oil marketing companies (OMC) kept fuel prices unchanged for the eighth consecutive day across the four metros on Sunday.
In
Mumbai, petrol was sold for Rs 97.57 per litre on Sunday.
Similarly, in Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata, the fuel was priced at Rs 91.17, Rs 93.11 and Rs 91.35 per litre, respectively, all unchanged from the previous levels.
The surge in retail prices comes despite a surge in crude oil prices. Brent crude futures are currently over $69 per barrel.
