Services on a priority section of India's first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor began on Saturday and the ridership is expected to cross the 10,000-mark on day one, a senior official of the NCRTC said.
The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor is being developed at a cost exceeding Rs 30,000 crore and will efficiently connect Delhi to Meerut in under an hour, passing through urban centres of Ghaziabad, Muradnagar, and Modinagar, according to the PMO.
Rapidx Launch: The Ghaziabad Police, however, urged commuters to use alternative routes and follow traffic rules to avoid any kind of inconvenience.

The RRTS train were earlier called as RapidX, but the name is now changed to NaMo Bharat, and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has flagged off the priority section of the system.
