JAMMU/SRINAGAR, Dec 15: Ten persons died of Coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir while 346 tested positive and 460 recovered from the virus today. Among six fatalities in the Jammu region, two were women.
Two Corona casualties each were reported from Kathua and Doda districts and one each from Jammu and Udhampur districts in Jammu region.
A 40-year-old man from Lakhanpur and 68-year-old from Dinga Amb in Kathua district died of co-morbidities and COVID-19 in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu and Narayana Hospital Katra respectively.
An 84-year-old woman from Damondha Bhaderwah and 70-year-old man from Near Masjid Sharif Nagri in Doda district died of Coronavirus at Community Health Centre (CHC) Bhaderwah and home respectively.

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/LEH, Dec 12: Jammu and Kashmir today reported seven COVID-19 casualties and 419 positives cases while 430 infected persons recovered from the virus. The Union Territory of Ladakh recorded 26 new cases.
Four fatalities were reported in the Jammu region and all of them were women while three deaths occurred in the Valley.
Out of four deaths in Jammu region today, three were reported from Jammu district and one in Rajouri.
A 70-year-old woman from Sainik Colony, who was suffering from hypertension and Type2 Diabetes and was positive for COVID-19 died in Narayana Hospital Katra where she was admitted five days back. Another woman aged 79 and hailing from Bohri Talab Tillo, who had Azotemia, hypertension and Coronavirus, died in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu.

JAMMU, Nov 24: A Deputy Director of Forest Protection Force (FPF) and a 20-year-old girl were among five persons who died of COVID-19 in Jammu region today while 253 persons tested positive and 220 others recovered from the virus.
The Union Territory of Ladakh especially Leh district continued to show surge in Corona fatalities with four more persons including a woman succumbing to the virus and 83 fresh cases all but one of which were reported in Leh today.
Fifty-seven-year-old Deputy Director of the Forest Protection Force posted at Billawar in Kathua district and hailing from Amowal, Tholori in Bari Brahmana area of Samba district died of Coronavirus in Narayana Hospital Katra today.

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/LEH, Nov 21: Two persons died of COVID-19 and 608 tested positive while 564 patients recovered from the virus in Jammu and Kashmir today. In the Union Territory of Ladakh, two Corona casualties and 79 fresh cases have been reported.
A 58-year-old man from Shiv Nagar in Udhampur died of multiple ailments and COVID-19 in Narayana Hospital Katra while the Corona casualty in Kashmir was reported from Bandipora district.
In the Rapid Antigen Testing in Jammu district, three cases were reported from Sheep Husbandry office, two Deputy Commissioner’s office and one each from Forest complex Dogra Hall, Press Club Jammu, Executive Director Mubarak Mandi office, Tehsildar Office Trikuta Nagar, District Industries Centre Exhibition Ground and Director Hospitality and Protocol.

JAMMU, Nov 18: Four persons died of COVID-19 in the Jammu region today-two each from Jammu and Doda districts-and 241 tested positive while 234 recovered from the virus.
The Deputy Commissioner Ramban, who is a KAS officer, today tested positive for Coronavirus.
He has been kept in home isolation at Batote. However, his family members tested negative for pathogen.
Four more doctors were also infected by the virus today. During last few days, many doctors have tested positive for COVID-19.
A 72-year-old man from Ghat area of Doda district died in Narayana Hospital Katra due to Coronavirus four days after his admission there. He had no co-morbidity.

JAMMU, Oct 1: Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla has once again written to all Chief Secretaries of the States/Union Territories to ensure that there are no restrictions on inter-State and intra-State movement of persons and goods and that no separate permission will be required for such movements even as Jammu region today reported 13 more Corona fatalities, six of them women, and 692 new cases while 1071 patients recovered. The Union Territory of Ladakh reported three casualties and 91 fresh cases today.

JAMMU, Sept 29: A Sub Inspector posted in Security wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police, a young Government teacher, one CRPF Havaldar of 25th battalion, a BSF jawan and an Ambulance driver of the Health Department were among 13 persons who lost their lives to COVID-19 while 640 new cases, nearly half of them in Jammu district alone, were reported in the Jammu region including 14 workers of two companies working for Railways in Ramban, 12 employees in the office of PWD Samba, three more prisoners in the District Jail Kathua, two police personnel posted at Lakhanpur Police Station and four BSF jawans in Poonch while 615 patients recovered today.

JAMMU, Sept 25: Fourteen more Corona casualties, five of them women, were reported from the Jammu region while 684 persons, 240 in Jammu district alone, tested positive for the virus today including 10 prisoners from District Jail Kathua, SHO in Poonch district, 27 workers of private Railway companies in Ramnagar and nine doctors.
Of 14 fatalities today, five were reported from Jammu district, three Udhampur, two Poonch and one each in Kishtwar, Kathua, Doda and Samba districts.
As many as 237 persons today tested positive for COVID-19 in Jammu district in Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT). They include 30 from Channi Rama, 23 Muthi Gaon, five SICOP Gangyal, eight Gangyal Industrial SICOP, six each from Ram Vihar, Rajpura and Rajeev Nagar, seven Gangyal Laxmi Products, eight New Plots, five New Rolling Mills Gangyal, two Steel Rolling Mill, three Poonch House, six AG office, one AG Accounts Office, six Bhalwal Panchayat Ghar Purkhoo Camp and four from Tawi Mahal.

JAMMU, Sept 23: Jammu region today recorded single day highest 21 Corona casualties, 10 of them women, a prisoner from District Jail Rajouri and two youth in their twenties, and 646 new cases including Doda Municipal Committee Chairman and prominent National Conference leader Ved Prakash Gupta, former MLA Chenani and Congress leader Krishan Chander Bhagat, seven doctors and six police constables of Ramnagar Police Station while Advisor to Lieutenant Governor Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar had to face tough questions at the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu over deteriorating healthcare including one death reportedly due to lack of oxygen supply as the GMC administration served suspension notices to several Nurses and other staff for unauthorized absence from the duties.

JAMMU, Sept 20: With COVID management suffering badly in Jammu and Kashmir as Corona patients were worst hit in almost all hospitals and surge continued in deaths and new cases, the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has decided to monitor pandemic on daily basis even as 13 new deaths and 817 cases, 266 in Jammu and 151 in Doda district, were reported today including four prominent doctors.
A leading Oncologist of the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, top Radiologist, District Immunization Officer (DIO) Doda and a Physician from the GMC Doda were among nine doctors who have tested positive for pathogen.

JAMMU, Sept 18: There has been no let up in Corona related deaths and cases in the Jammu region where nine more persons succumbed to the virus and 672 new cases, 221 in Jammu district alone including the Assistant Commissioner Revenue and nine doctors were reported today while 294 persons recovered.
A 60-year-old man from Green Enclave in Rehari Colony, who was co-morbid and positive for COVID-19, died in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu this morning while an Executive Engineer of the PHE Rural Division died of ailments and virus at Narayana Hospital Katra yesterday. He hailed from Nanak Nagar.

JAMMU, Sept 15: Jammu region today recorded single day highest 15 COVID deaths including a one-month old baby, an AEE of Power Development Department (PDD), an official of Jammu and Kashmir Bank, father of a BJP Corporator, a young police constable and a saw mill owner while 741 persons have tested positive for the virus, 254 in Jammu district alone. And 354 persons reported positive in Jammu district during Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT), 104 of them in Government offices and autonomous bodies.
Of 104 persons detected positive for the virus in Government offices and other Departments, 15 were reported from Central University, 11 from Chief Agriculture Office, five High Court, 26 Skills Development Office/Polytechnic Bikram Chowk, seven CID office Canal Road, eight IIT Jagti, 14 J&K Bank Shalamar Branch, 11 FCI New Godown Narwal, six FCI Regional /District Office and one IB Bahu Plaza. The Director Agriculture has also tested positive for the virus while the Chief Agriculture Office Jammu has been closed till September 18.

JAMMU, Apr 10: Amid lockdown J&K witnessing sharpest ever increase in coronavirus cases as the toll of positive cases has crossed 207 mark on Friday with government saying that more 30 cases have been detected in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory today.
According to government spokesman Rohit Kansal said that total number of positive cases across the Union Territory has mounted to 207.
He said that there are now 39 cases in Jammu while as the 168 people have been detected positive in the Valley. Total positive cases in J&K now 207. Jammu-39; Kashmir-168," Kansal tweeted.

JAMMU, Feb 1: A poor labourer from Uttar Pradesh and his family had all smiles when he was operated successfully with Total Hip Replacement Surgery at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital (SMVDNSH), Katra.
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital treated the pilgrim free of cost. The pilgrim while on his way to the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine fractured his left hip. He was immediately brought to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital and on further investigation, a team of doctors led by Dr Vikas Padha found that there is a need of an immediate Total Hip Replacement Surgery.
