APSERM Commission Issues Notice To Guntur Narayana Inter College Over Poor Facilities

GUNTUR: Members of Andhra Pradesh School Education Regulatory and Monitoring Commission (APSERMC) on Sunday, carried out surprise inspections on Narayana Junior College in Guntur and found that the facilities were in poor condition despite the management collecting exorbitant fees from students and issued notice to the management over the same.
Commission members V. Narayana Reddy, CAV Prasad and B. Eshwaraya conducted a surprise inspection at the Narayana Junior College Hostel campus in Pedapalakaluru on the outskirts of Guntur. They were outraged by the lack of proper sanitation on the campus. They also saw that food was not properly stored and discovered rotten vegetables, including tomatoes and cabbage still kept in the kitchen.

HYDERABAD: The Telangana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (TSCPCR), along with the District Intermediate Education Officer, Ranga Reddy, inspected junior colleges in the district on Thursday.
The officials found that the Sindhu Girls Campus of Narayana Junior College and Sri Chaitanya Junior College, Vivin Towers, in Miyapur were violating the social distancing norms of the government by cramming nearly 100 students in a single room. They also noted that the colleges were not following any Covid-19 protocol.

Karimnagar:  Months before his settled marriage was to take place, a 29-year-old native of Telangana on Monday died in the United States. Reports say that he died after suffering from high fever.
The man, identified as Pammidi Nikhil Rao, migrated to the US in 2015 after completing his engineering in a private university in Tamil Nadu. He was working as a software engineer and later, even secured an H-1 visa in 2020.
“He was supposed to visit us in February. His marriage was also due this year,” said Nikhil’s parents, distraught. As per local media reports, Nikhil was the adopted child of his parents. His biological parents were his father’s elder brother and sister-in-law.

In a tragic incident, a student fell down from the top of a college building and was severely injured. The incident took place on Thursday morning near Nannur.
According to the police, Surendra Yadav (17), son of Maddileti Yadav, is a resident of Kolla Bavapuram village in Nandikotkur mandal, is studying in the second year of Inter (MPC) at Narayana Junior College near Nannur. Three days ago, he eent to the hostel.
On Thursday morning he slipped from the top of the building due to lack of grills. He has fractured legs and also spine injury. The other students who noticed this informed the hostel incharge. The victim was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Kurnool for treatment. SI Venkateswara Rao said that he was investigating in all the possible angles. The incident seems to have taken place as there were no grills.

Hyderabad: Two students from Hyderabad managed to crack the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced exams, which were announced by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Delhi on Monday. Hardik Rajpal, a student from Narayana Junior College, Madhapur, secured sixth rank in the Common Rank List (CRL), while Abdullah Mohammed from MS Education Academy managed to secure rank 92 in the OBC. Both the students managed to get ranks within the first 100 seats.
This year, a total of 1,60,838 candidates registered for the exam and 1,50,838 appeared of which 43,204 have qualified. Counselling 2020 process for admission in all the IITs, NITs, IIITs and other Government Funded Technical Institutes, which grant admission based on candidate’s JEE Advanced score is scheduled to begin from tomorrow, October 6. However, IIT-Delhi has not yet released the top 100 rankers list, wherein there may be more candidates from Telangana.

A police constable who purportedly kicked a man, who attempted to prevent police from taking for postmortem, the dead body of his teenage daughter, who allegedly committed suicide earlier this week, has been attached to Sangareddy District headquarters, Telangana Police said on Wednesday. A departmental probe has also been ordered against him.
Superintendent of Police (in-charge), Medak District, Chandana Deepthi told ANI: "We received a complaint from a man stating that his daughter Sandhya Rani, an intermediate student at Narayana Junior College in Patancheru has committed suicide on February 24 after she got ill and the college management did not allow her to go home."

Child rights organisation Balala Hakkula Sangham (BHS) has filed a complaint with the Telangana State Human Rights Commission (SHRC), seeking action against the Narayana Residential College for the death of a 17-year-old student. Sandhya Rani, a student of the college in Velimela in Telangana's Sangareddy district, was found dead in her hostel on Tuesday.
According to the complaint, while the college management claimed that it was a suicide, the parents said that their daughter had called and complained of severe fever, days before her death. The organisation argued that considering these circumstances, it should be treated as a case of death due to negligence by the management.

Telangana police constable, who was seen kicking the father of a student who allegedly committed suicide,
in a video that went viral on Wednesday, was placed under suspension on Thursday. The order was issued by State Home Minister Md Mahmood Ali.
“Police Officer N Sridhar PC-349, who is seen kicking the father of the deceased, in the Patancheru incident of 26.02.2020, is placed under suspension,” said DGP M Mahendar Reddy.
According to child-rights organisation Balala Hakkula Sangham, who approached the Telangana State Human Rights Commission against alleged police atrocity and inaction against the college management, the 16-year-old Sandhya Rani, a junior intermediate student of Narayana Junior College in Velimela died under suspicious circumstances and that the parents of the deceased believe it is a clear case of negligence on part of the college management.

Acting on the strong backlash, and on the directions issued by Home Minister Mahmood Ali, the Police Department suspended N. Sridhar, the constable who kicked S. Chandrasekhar, father of Inter student who committed suicide in Narayana Junior College two days ago.
The video of the policeman kicking the girl’s father went viral on the social media.
TRS working president and Minister K T Rama Rao tweeted: “Showing empathy in times of grief such as this is the basic courtesy that is expected of government departments.”
He requested the Home Minister and Telangana DGP to review the insensitive handling by these policemen.

Sangareddy (Telangana) [India], Feb 26 (ANI): A departmental probe was ordered oN Wednesday against a police constable for allegedly kicking the father of a student, who had committed suicide.
The 16-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide after the college management didn't allow her to go to her parents.
"We have received a complaint from a person stating that his 16-year-old daughter who was in intermediate in Narayana Junior College in Patancheru has committed suicide on February 24. She was ill but the college management didn't allow her to go to her parents," Medak Superintendent of Police Chandana Deepti said.

Hyderabad: A police constable who kicked the father of an intermediate girl who had commited suicide on Tuesday was attached to the AR headquarter on Wednesday with immediate effect. He faces disciplinary action after a detailed inquiry into his alleged highhanded behaviour.
The in-charge Superintendent of Police of Sangareddy district Chandana Deepthi initiated the action after IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao took serious note of the incident. A video clip which shows police constable Sridhar kicking the father, Chandrashekhar, went viral on social media platforms on Wednesday.

HYDERABAD: Two students of Narayana Junior College were killed in a road accident that took place late night of Thursday. Along with two deceased, seven other Intermediate students got injured in this accident, which took place near Aramghar cross roads in Rajanendranagar area. The Narayana college students took Tata Safari vehicle and went to celebrate birthday party of one of the team mates. The accident took place near metro pillar number 221 Aramghar chowrastha.
As per the police sources, all the students hailed from Mahbubnagar and resident in the college hostel. After the classes in the evening, all the nine students took the vehicle and left to attend their friend's birthday party in Rajendrangar without informing the college staff. All the nine, who are taking long term coaching in the college, jumped the compound wall to go for birthday party.

Two persons, including a homemaker, were killed and two sexagenarians were injured in three accidents in the city on Wednesday.
In the first accident, a 25-year-old college bus driver was run over by a water tanker of another college in KPHB Colony here.
Around 9.15 a.m. when Syed Qasim, a resident of Ayyappa Society, was proceeding towards Indu Fortune Fields on his two-wheeler, the water tanker of Sri Chaitanya Junior College hit his scooter from behind near Vasanthnagar bus stop.
“Qasim lost control and came under the rear wheels of the tanker. He was crushed to death,” KPHB Colony police said. His body was dragged for more than 50 metres before the tanker driver realised.
