A 58-year-old woman, her husband and son were assaulted by a
cab driver after she threw up outside the
car while they were on their way to a hospital. The driver asked the woman who was sick to clean the car and when her family offered him Rs. 500, he demanded more. When the son tried to contact the customer service, the driver called 10 other drivers, who ganged up and beat them.
Shubham Das Gupta, 25, a resident of HBR Layout 2nd stage and a software engineer, has filed a complaint with the Ashoknagar police on Saturday against the driver, Punith.

ET has gathered that the state has now set a target of 35,000 antigen tests per day starting next week and has procured 200,000 kits to be distributed to 30 districts. The target for Bengaluru city is 11,500 antigen tests per day.
In the last six days, the state has tested a total of 24,000 samples on antigen. Samples tested on RT-PCR on Thursday were 21,000. RT-PCR testing volume has remained constant for the last 10 days.
Bengaluru: Karnataka has shifted its Covid-19 testing strategy by pushing for more rapid antigen tests, to cope with heightened pressure to ramp up testing as the state experiences a sharp rise in coronavirus infection.

Bengaluru, July 1 : With positive cases surging by the day, Karnataka would have more measures to contain the Covid spread in the southern state, especially in this tech city, which accounts for 26 per cent of the infections, a minister said on Wednesday.
"More measures will be taken after the chief minister (B.S. Yediyurappa) consults health experts on containing the corona virus spread in the state and Bengaluru since unlock 1.0 began a month ago," state Medical Education Minister K. Sudhakar told reporters here.

Amidst an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases that has raised concerns about the availability of hospital beds, medical experts have suggested to the State government to treat asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic patients in home isolation to reduce the burden on hospitals. The advice was given by several experts at a meeting convened by Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa in Bengaluru on Wednesday to deliberate on the guidelines and strategy to be implemented in COVID-19 management in the State.
