I plan to make an updated list each month. But we’ll see about that. This list is a combination of scores from Rotten Tomatoes (critic and audience), IMDb, and Google. So it’s hopefully objective. Anyhow, as best as I could calculate, these are the best of the best 2021 has to offer thus far. Maybe this will help you keep track of the horror movies you should be watching this year. We’ll just take it month by month.

The Dominican Republic has great weather and world-class beaches, not to mention a low cost of living and a stable government--plus it's just 3 1/2 hours from New York, which means you can leave the city in the morning and be on the beach for lunch.

One thing’s for certain: In this age of geekery reigning supreme, critics and academics no longer dismiss the genre as disreputable with the kneejerk regularity some once did. But even now there’s talk of “elevated horror,” of artier explorations of dread and terror — Ari Aster’s “Hereditary” and Luca Guadagnino’s “Suspiria” being two very recent examples — that are clearly distinguished from, well, non-elevated horror. The idea being that they engage your brain more than just showing brains being splattered against the wall.

PHOENIX — Before he became a leader and the artistic director at Valley Youth Theatre in Arizona, the same theater that produced stars like Emma Stone and Jordin Sparks, before he received the Inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award from the Governor's Arts Awards, and before he was beloved by thespians across the state, Bobb Cooper lived a life few could imagine.
Cooper, who has worked at Valley Youth Theater for 25 years, grew up in Michigan where he says he lived in a violent home with an alcoholic father.

It says a lot about the last couple of years at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum that, when you start to compile a list of all the upheaval there over the past 24 months, the pandemic barely cracks the top five.
The tumult at this vitally important Springfield institution has been years in the making. It goes back even further than the abrupt 2019 firing of executive director Alan Lowe after it was learned that he had taken the museum’s rare original copy of the Gettysburg Address and used it as a party favor for a fundraiser put on by a group connected to talk show host Glenn Beck.

Chromatica tracks, asked his Twitter followers on Sunday (4 April) what artists they would like to see on a remix album “in theory”, and tagged Rina Sawayama in the thread.
When a Twitter user suggested Sawayama should be featured on a “Free Woman” remix, Bloodpop simply replied: “Yup.”
BloodPop also replied to a number of other Lady Gaga stans who suggested countless artists for a potential remix album.

HBO’s “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” dedicated the bulk of Sunday night’s episode to an in-depth look at the $28 trillion national debt, which Oliver called “an absolute f--- ton of money.”
"The truth is, our national debt is undeniably big, and between the trillions in coronavirus stimulus bills and the infrastructure plans [President Joe] Biden unveiled just this week, it's poised to get even bigger, and Republicans in particular seem outraged by that," Oliver said.
The host then explained the difference between deficits and debt and ran through some 40-plus years of tax and debt politics, all with the stated objective of trying to clarify how the national debt works, "how valid concerns about it are, and how we should think about it moving forward." Oliver slammed debt fearmongering and explained how mainstream economic thinking has shifted in recent years given the persistence of low interest rates in the face of ever-growing debt.
