Thirty-three people were killed when a bus plunged into a river at a notorious accident blackspot in central Kenya, officials said.

Twenty people died on the spot, while four died in hospital and another six bodies were recovered on July 25.

33 dead as Kenya bus plunges into river

The bus was traveling to Mombasa from the central town of Meru when it careered off a bridge. At least 24 people have been killed, according to local media, though that toll could rise.
