Published December 10. 2020 9:47AM
The Niantic Children’s Museum’s family-friendly New Year's Eve event, Countdown to Noon, is going virtual this year.
Due to COVID restrictions, the museum is adapting the Countdown celebration to be a live Facebook broadcast. Families will still be able to virtually see the science demos and learn all about the museum animals, New Year's traditions from around the world and have some New Year's food fun. The museum has found a COVID-friendly twist for its popular Noon Balloon Drop tradition.
Through the museum’s online Countdown Contest, one family will get to be the only in-person attendees at the Balloon Drop and get to release all the balloons. The grand prize also includes exclusive use of the Museum from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; a meet and greet with two of the museum animals; museum animal plushie; Countdown to Noon Party Craft Box and two museum passes for future use. Raffle tickets for the Countdown to Noon Contest are $5 each or 5 for $20.
