UGC-NET postponed in view of Covid-19 situation: Union education minister | India News

NEW DELHI: The UGC-National Eligibility Test (NET) scheduled to be held from May 2 to 17 has been postponed in view of the Covid-19 pandemic situation, Union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' announced on Tuesday.
According to an order by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the revised dates for the exam will be announced later, at least 15 days before the examination.
"Keeping in mind the safety and wellbeing of candidates and exam functionaries during Covid-19 outbreak, I have advised @DG_NTA to postpone the UGC-NET Dec 2020 cycle (May 2021) exams," Nishank tweeted.
"Looking at the present situation of the COVID-19 pandemic and also taking into account the safety and well being of the candidates and examination functionaries, it has been decided to postpone the UGC-NET exam," the order by the NTA stated.

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has announced on Sunday that engineering entrance exam JEE-Mains has been deferred.
The JEE-Mains (April session) 2021 that were slated to take place from April 27-30 have now been cancelled in view of the rapid increase in coronavirus cases across the country.
The revised dates are yet to be announced.
Taking to Twitter, Union minister Ramesh Pokhriyal posted "Given the current Covid 19 situation, I have advised NTA to postpone the JEE Main 2021 April session. I would like to reiterate that the safety of our students & academic career is Education ministry and my prime concern right now. Please note: The dates of JEE (Main) – 2021 April session will be announced later on and at least 15 days before the examination."

JIPMAT 2021: The online registration process for JIPMAT 2021 has been started by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The NTA will conduct the Joint Integrated Programme in Management Admission Test (JIPMAT) 2021 for admission to a five-year integrated program in Management in the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) at Bodh Gaya and Jammu. 
Candidates can apply for the JIPMAT 2021 examination online at jipmat.nta.ac.in on or before April 30.
"Candidates should have passed 10+2/XII/HSC examination in arts/commerce/science stream or equivalent with 60% (55% for candidates from SC/ST/PwD) or more in the year 2019, 2020 or appearing in 2021. The candidate must have passed class 10th examination with 60% (55% for candidates from SC/ST/PwD) or more in the year not before 2017," reads the official notice.\

Odisha Government has asked NTA to consider opening additional exam centres for NEET 2021 exam in the state. As per the notification, NTA has proposed setting up centres in only 7 districts.

Citing the difficulties that students might face while going to a few selected examination centres in Odisha to appear for all-India NEET-UG 2021 test amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the state government on Tuesday requested the National Testing Agency (NTA) to set up one exam centre in each district of the State.
Additional Chief Secretary Health & Family Welfare P K Mohapatra in a letter addressed to Director General of NTA Vineet Joshi and has requested to consider setting up one examination centre for NEET-UG 2021 in each district of the State.

The Odisha government has requested from the National Testing Agency, NTA, to conduct the NEET-UG 2021 examination in all the thirty districts and not in the selected seven districts. The request is made by the Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, PK Mohapatra in the view of the ongoing covid-19 pandemic.
In a letter to NTA’s Director-General, Vineer Joshi, the Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, PK Mohapatra has stated that the state's plea should be taken into consideration and the NEET UG examination be conducted in all the 30 districts.

The Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) 2021 result is expected today, March 15, as per the examination calendar of the National Testing Agency, which administers the exam. When announced, GPAT result 2021 will be available on the official websites of NTA and candidates will have to login with their credentials to download scorecards. The GPAT 2021 website, gpat.nta.nic.in, will host the results. The result link will also be available through nta.ac.in.
The GPAT result is accepted by all AICTE-approved institutions, university departments, constituent colleges and affiliated colleges for admission. Candidates will have to apply separately to the desired college for admission.

National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test, NEET 2021 examination will be held only once this year. Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal announced this today, on March 15, 2021.
In a written letter to Lok Sabha, the Union Education Minister said that NTA under the Ministry of Education conducts NEET for the medical sciences undergraduate programme. NEET examination is being held every year by the National Testing Agency in consultation with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

New Delhi [India], March 13 (ANI): The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Friday announced the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) examination for admission in undergraduate medical courses to be held on August 1.
"NEET (UG) - 2021 will be conducted in 11 languages, including Hindi and English through Pen and Paper mode on 01 August (Sunday)," said NTA notification.
The NEET examination is conducted by NTA for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, and BHMS courses.
NET in the notification said that the information regarding the test, syllabus, eligibility criteria for age, reservation, categorisation of seats, examination fee, cities of examination, State Code, among other things will be available shortly on its website when the submission of the application form for NEET (UG) 2021 starts.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Friday announced that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2021 will be held on August 1. According to the notification issued by the agency, “NEET (UG) 2021 will be conducted in 11 languages, including Hindi and English, through pen and paper mode.”
“The result of NEET can also be used by other entities of state/central government colleges for admission to B.Sc Nursing and B.Sc Life Sciences,” the notice issued by NTA said.

"The NEET (UG), 2021, is going to be conducted by NTA for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS and BHMS courses as per the relevant norms, guidelines and regulations notified by the regulatory bodies concerned.
"The exam will be conducted in 11 languages, including Hindi and English, through pen and paper mode on August 1," the NTA said in an official notification.
Bulletin containing detailed information regarding the test, syllabus, eligibility criteria for age, reservation, categorisation of seats, examination fee, cities of examination, state code will be available shortly when the submission of the application form for NEET (UG) starts, it added.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the dates for the National Entrance cum Eligibility Test (NEET) 2021 on Friday (March 12). The NEET 2021 exams will be held on August 1, 2021.
In the official NTA NEET notification says: “NEET (UG) 2021 will be conducted in 11 languages, including Hindi and English through Pen & Paper mode on 01 August 2021 (Sunday).” Further, NTA has clarified that the information brochure with complete details will be public soon. The notification says: “NEET 2021 information bulletin containing detailed information regarding the test, syllabus, eligibility criteria for age, reservation, categorization of seats, examination fee, cities of examination, State Code, etc. will be available shortly on the website ntaneet.nic.in, when the submission of the application form for NEET (UG) starts.”

Ranjim Prabal Das, one of the six candidates who scored 100 percentile in the JEE-Mains 2021 examination, said he is a huge fan of Tesla CEO Elon Musk and expressed his desire to study at IIT-Delhi for his higher studies.
"I follow Elon Musk and I plan to go to IIT Delhi for higher studies. Otherwise, I will go to India Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru for science graduation," Das told news agency ANI.
