In the wake of the COVID-19 surge, the Election Commission of India on Saturday directed that no physical political rallies and roadshows will be allowed till January 15, however, further rallies and election campaign meetings will be allowed only in earmarked places and with prior permissions of district administration.

With Covid cases surging, EC restricts campaigning in Bengal

Kolkata, April 16 : Considering the steep rise of Covid cases in the state, the Election Commission(EC) has restricted all parties from conducting any kind of political rallies, meetings and political gatherings between 7 pm and 10 am during the days of campaign from Friday onwards.
Invoking its powers under Article 324, EC also extended the silence hours from 48 hours to 72 hours in the next phases of election.
In an order issued by the commission, it has been said that No rallies, public meetings, street plays, Nukkad Sabhas shall be allowed on any day during the days of campaigning between 7 pm and 10 am from 7 pm of 16.04.2021 .

New Delhi, March 6 : The Delhi government on Friday sought Residents Welfare Association (RWAs) participation in its ongoing Switch Delhi campaign, launched to encourage people to adopt electric vehicles to make the national capital a clean and pollution-free city.
Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said that he has written to all RWAs and Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) of Delhi to extend their support to the resident bodies in their constituencies to be a part of this movement.
