BJP city president Ashish Shelar says he inspected many nullahs on Friday and found that work on some of them haven’t yet started.
The BMC has floated 31 tenders to remove silt from the nullahs in Mumbai city and in the eastern & western suburbs, drains along the expressway and the stormwater drains along the city roads and to clean Mithi River.
The corporation has already floated a tender of Rs 87 crore for the period of two years, with a target of silt removal of 2.70 lakh tonnes per year, 70 per cent before monsoon, 20 per cent during rains and 10 per cent later
