The Otago University spin-out has collapsed in the wake of investor disagreements.
One of the tragedies of business is when a promising young company with smart technology hits a funding wall and dies. Such is the case with Photonic Innovations.

Photonic was a University of Otago spin-out that commercialised technology developed at the university’s quantum physics centre in 2005. The project was shelved for almost three years, before being revived in 2013 when tech incubator Powerhouse Ventures and the Crown-backed NZ Venture Investment Fund (NZVIF)
