The Truth be Cancelled

The left has some comparative advantages in its war against liberty and tolerance. Chief among these is their boundless imagination for making things up. Last weekend’s target was the American Conservative Union (ACU), which hosts CPAC, the largest gathering of conservatives in the world.
Thousands of conservative activists, hundreds of conservative entities, as well as conservative politicians, thought leaders and millions of viewers in the United States and around the world were together in person or virtually. If that wasn’t enough to trigger the haters, that President Trump delivered his first speech since leaving office was the final straw. CPAC was the perfect target for a smear campaign.

CPAC and the end of the GOP

CPAC and the end of the GOP
Throughout the campaign trail and immediately after the election, President Joseph Biden predicted that Republicans would have an “epiphany” about working across the aisle with a Democratic president. Both Biden and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi have claimed that America needs a strong Republican Party. Some of Biden’s most common calls have been for unity and bipartisanship, along with a frequent promise to restore the “soul of America.” In the month since taking office, however, Republicans seem to want anything other than unity. Just days ago, 210 of 211 House GOP members voted against the Democrats’ stimulus bill, with one––Congressman Bost of Illinois––not voting. Trump remains the most popular choice among Republican voters for the 2024 presidential race. Whatever moderate, bipartisan steps leading Democrats have made, the GOP leader reaction was to say that they never could have “imagined just how bad they would be and how far left they would go.”

Explain to me exactly when you can’t explain away a faux pas? Is it after the third time it happens? Fourth? Fifth? Ninety-eighth? When? I’m sorry but if you’re not following what is unfolding before your very eyes, then you need to wake up! Did it start with Laura Ingraham with the Seig Heil in 2016? Did it continue with Trump calling Mexicans “rapists, drug dealers and thieves?” Muslim bans? Caging children and separating them from their parents? After Charlottesville: “Good people on both sides?” Fake news? Border walls? “Proud Boys, stand back and stand by?” It’s all being amplified by Trump Puppets. The slogan should have never been “Make America Great Again,” it should have been, “Make America White Again.”

Hyatt Hotels Blasts As ‘Abhorrent’ The CPAC Stage’s Resemblance To Nazi Symbol
The hotel chain also attacked CPAC members who acted with "hostility" when they were asked to wear masks, risking the health of other hotel guests and employees.
The Hyatt Hotels Corp. has condemned as “abhorrent” the resemblence between a Nazi SS symbol and the stage design at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Florida last weekend.
The company also sharply criticized “disrespectful” CPAC members who rudely refused requests to wear masks at the event, risking the health of workers at the Hyatt Regency Orlando.
The American Conservative Union, which organizes CPAC, said Monday that Hyatt’s statement was another example of “cancel culture” and attacked the company for its lack of “inclusivity.”

Hyatt Hotels says hate symbols 'abhorrent' amid comparisons of CPAC stage to Nazi rune

Hyatt Hotels said they had "deep concerns" after Twitter users compared the stage design of the Conservative Political Action Conference to a Norse rune used by Nazis during the Second World War. The company, which is hosting CPAC at its Hyatt Regency Orlando property in Florida, released a statement addressing the comparison after it went viral on Twitter during the conference. "We take the concern raised about the prospect of symbols of hate...

The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) was embroiled in controversy after its stage bore eerie resemblance to Odal rune, a symbol used by the Nazis during the second world war. CPAC strongly denied the allegations terming them as outrageous and slanderous.
The four-day event at Orlando, Florida is being attended by prominent Republicans including former US President Donald Trump. TMZ reported that the symbol Odal Rune, dating back to ancient Germanic languages, was inscribed on the uniforms of Nazi SS soldiers from the 7th Volunteer Mountain Division, based at occupied Yugoslavia.

Odal Rune History: From Norse Alphabets to CPAC Nazi Symbol Claims

Outraged social media users condemned the Conservative Political Action Conference organizers this weekend for what they speculated was a nod to Nazi pagan ideology and modern white supremacy, drawing angry rebuttals by the CPAC and prominent conservatives.
The shape of the stage at this weekend's conference in Orlando, Florida, raised eyebrows given its similarity—when viewed from above—to the Elder Futhark Odal or Othala rune, a letter from a Germanic writing system that emerged in the Migration Period in Germany, Scandinavia and elsewhere.
CPAC vehemently denied the shape of the stage had any white supremacist or fascist link. Matt Schlapp, the chair of the American Conservative Union which organizes the event, wrote on Twitter that the "conspiracies are outrageous and slanderous."
