But I didn’t expect my fact-check into claims about South African President Cyril Ramaphosa being charged with racketeering and treason to turn very weird, very quickly.
A Facebook post, published in April 2021, includes nine photographs. The first is of two men standing outside the Sandton, Johannesburg branch of the South African Police Service. The second shows one of the men writing on a document inside a room. The rest of the photos appear to show pages of an affidavit.

During an interview with eNCA recently, Sexwale said that money meant to fund several needs in the country, including education, had been stolen.
He explained that it had been deposited into a "heritage fund".
This week, Treasury and the SA Reserve Bank denied the claims, saying that they received many requests for money or promises and regard these as scams.

JOHANNESBURG - National Treasury and the South African Reserve Bank said that there was no evidence of billions of rands being deposited with the central bank in a so-called heritage fund.
They also said that businessman Tokyo Sexwale appeared to have been the target of a scam.
