Stability has been elusive to Karnataka because of its unique demography. However, both the national parties turned the 2023 assembly polls into a high-pitched campaign.
The highest polling of 90% was recorded in Melukote and Hoskote. The Kanakapura seat of Congress president D K Shivakumar and Varuna seat of former CM Siddaramaiah saw polling of over 85 % and 84 % respectively.
Tejasvi Surya was speaking to television channels after at least five exit polls predicted Congress emerging as the single largest party.
While many such voters were busy contacting those distributing money for votes, some waited near polling booths for agents of political parties. A few were seen striking a deal with the agents.
