Nigeria’s CAF Confederation Cup campaigners, Enyimba, are billed to return to the country on Wednesday (today) after being stranded for two days in Algeria.
The People’s Elephant could not immediately book their flight back to Nigeria after their Confederation Cup 3-0 defeat to ES Setif on Sunday.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions in Algeria, few flights are allowed in and outside the North African country, which hindered Enyimba’s immediate return to Nigeria.
The only flights available to the Nigerians were Air France and Qatar Airways with the former requiring Schengen visas, which Enyimba players and officials didn’t have on their passports.

Orlando Pirates & Kaizer Chiefs legend Tau gives Sesane a solid review

“[He is a] great prospect. You can see the work ethic is good, and if he’s willing to learn, because in this game for you to get better, you need to remain a student for as long as you can,” said Tau, who of course also played for Kaizer Chiefs.
“If he remains humble and works very hard I think opportunities like this will come in very handy for him. It’s important that he takes them and makes sure that he embraces them.
“Remember there are those that are there in front of you – yes they might have been suspended, the regular players, but it's an opportunity for you too. So all the best to him and hopefully this won’t be his last Man-of-the-Match performance,” added the former right-back.

Golden Arrows up to 600 league matches in the PSL era
Apr 19, 2021 - 05:08 pm
By Lovemore Moyo
Lamontville Golden Arrows clocked a landmark 600 league matches to become only the eighth club to reach that mark in the history of the PSL era.
The home draw against Bloemfontein Celtic in their last outing was the KwaZulu-Natal outfit's 600th league game played since their first against Santos back on August 9, 2000.
That game against Santos finished 1-1 with Siyabonga Khanyile scoring the first ever league goal for Abafana Bes’thende, who had already played a two-legged Rothmans Cup preliminary round tie against African Wanderers.
In reaching this milestone, Arrows now join Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, SuperSport United, the now defunct Bidvest Wits, Bloemfontein Celtic, and Moroka Swallows in surpassing 600 league games since the start of the PSL in 1996.

Kaizer Chiefs need to conquer Africa and the PSL - Ertugral

“It’s heartbreaking to see Kaizer Chiefs like that. They need to conquer Africa, not only here. You can see that by Sundowns,” Ertugral told iDiski Times.
“And they need to be on par with Sundowns. And also Pirates, these are the locomotives in South African football. You need Sundowns, Pirates, Chiefs to run South African football and the other football teams will follow.
“You can’t have these clubs on crutches. Sundowns has learnt that from all those years before, and I think they now need to learn from Sundowns.”
Their continental run is in contrast to their domestic performances where they currently find themselves ninth on the Premier Soccer League standings.

Andries Sebola says the relegation-threatend sides can end Mamelodi
Apr 18, 2021 - 09:00 am
By Sipho Mlotha
Former Orlando Pirates striker Andries Sebola does not believe Mamelodi Sundowns will finish the 2020/21 DStv Premiership campaign unbeaten.
The defending league champions extended their unbeaten run in the top flight to 20 matches, surpassing Kaizer Chiefs' record of going unbeaten in their first 19 matches,
After last Thursday's 4-1 demolition of Orlando Pirates in Nedbank Quarter-final, Sebola says only teams that are playing to avoid relegation will give Sundowns their first loss.
"Twenty games without a loss in the PSL games, maybe for the three coaches Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego they are doing a good job for Sundowns." Sebola tells

Onyango retirement a big loss for Uganda - Williamson
"Onyango is a quality goalkeeper who has been very influential for the national team," Williamson told
Goal on Saturday.
"He will be a very big loss; he has great experience and a very good goalkeeper; his presence will be missed."
However, the 59-year-old believes this is a blessing in disguise for other goalkeepers to show what they have to offer for the East African heavyweights.
"It is a fact, getting an Onyango replacement will not be easy because we all know the quality of the player," Williamson continued.
"But we have goalkeepers who have been yearning for an opportunity to prove their worth. So Onyango's retirement provides a massive chance for them to develop."

Josef Zinnbauer gives hope to Azola Tshobeni
Apr 17, 2021 - 01:00 pm

Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer is convinced youngster Azola Tshobeni will have a great future with the Soweto giants.
The 18-year-old was promoted to Buccaneers senior team this season after impressing in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge last campaign.
Having already made five DStv Premiership appearances this term, Zinnbauer has predicted a bright future for the midfielder, but says it is important that the Soweto giants protect him.

Vilakazi blasts Chippa United over Eymael debacle

iDiskiTimes, Vilakazi criticised Chippa United's actions.
“I was bitterly disappointed with the way that Chippa United dealt with the Luc Eymael situation last week,” said the former Orlando Pirates player.
“It is even more embarrassing when you consider that the club appointed the same coach in December until they were pressured into withdrawing their appointment by the public and sponsors.
“Allegations of racism are always serious and must never be taken lightly by any club, however, the way that Chippa United dealt with the situation was disappointing to say the least," 'Tso' continued.
“Luc Eymael has coached all over the African continent including South Africa, having coached Polokwane City, Black Leopards and Free State Stars.
