shepard: a rare and deadly shark attack today on the west coast. now three beaches are closed after a shark killed a swimmer off the coast of california. we re told the beaches will be closed for a full 72 hours. it happened at surf beach, a public beach but ativan denberg air force base in san that barbara county 130 miles or so up the coast from los angeles. attacks as i mentioned are rare but we re told a shark bit a surfer s board there. now 11 fatal shark attacks off california since 1950. the department of homeland security could soon scrap plans for a virtual border fence. so says a just released report by the u.s. government accountability office. its study found that the government has already spent $1 billion on high tech cameras and radar and sensors but that a cease reiss of oversight problems have plagued the program from the very beginning. we re told the project only ....
