Following Monday night’s screening of the heart wrenching documentary Patrick: A Young Traveller Lost, Sligo Traveller Support Group have called for urgent action to be taken to tackle the mental health crisis in the Traveller community.
A local member of the Travelling community says an RTÉ documentary laid bare the mental health difficulties faced by many young Travellers.
Patrick: A Young Traveller Lost will air on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player tonight a 9.35pm.
President Michael D Higgins has called for the documentary revealing the story of young Traveller boy who took his own life, to be shown in schools.
