Incoming GoTo CEO Patrick Walujo is planning to head the Indonesian technology company only temporarily and resign after improving profitability, as he splits his time between it and a private equity firm he co-founded, according to sources. The prominent Indonesian dealmaker, whose private equity firm Northstar Group was one of the earliest backers of GoTo's ride hailing business Gojek, was named as the CEO of GoTo last week.
This week's significant developments included the split of storied VC firm Sequoia Capital and a change of guard at Indonesia's GoTo.
Walujo's main focus will be on cost-cutting measures, driving synergies and shutting down divisions that are not core to GoTo's future.
GOTO and ARTO shares saw a rise at the end of the first trading session on the Indonesia Stock Exchange on Friday morning.
