Srinagar, Apr 30 (PTI) The elections to the redrawn Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat, which was slated to go to polls on May 7, was postponed to May 25 by the Election Commission. This comes after several leaders including Jammu and Kashmir BJP unit chief Ravinder Raina, Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party chief Altaf Bukhari, People's Conference leader Imran Ansari and others had approached the Election Commission requesting for rescheduling of polls to the seat due to adverse weather condition. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has filed a complaint against the BJP, alleging threats and intimidation against Pahari Muslims to influence their voting in the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat in Jammu and Kashmir. The complaint cites instances where BJP representatives allegedly threatened violence reminiscent of the 1947 partition if Pahari Muslims do not vote for the Apni Party, backed by the Sangh Parivar. The PDP has submitted a video as evidence, urging immediate action to ensure the integrity of the electoral process and the safety of voters.
The letter posted on his Facebook page on Monday morning read, “I hope this letter finds you well. It is with a heavy heart that I compose this correspondence to tender my resignation as a member and stakeholder in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Abia State, effective immediately.
