Peenya flyover may soon be thrown open to heavy vehicles

Professor JM Chandra Kishen from Indian Institute of Science (IISc) provided detailed insights into the condition and improvements made to the flyover. He stated, “Initially, we observed that the cables were rusted, leading to a weakening of the structure. To address this, we took corrective measures by laying additional cables to reinforce it.”

Raghavendra HB, a marketing executive, mentioned, “Every day, I travel from Widia Hospital to Goraguntepalya, and it usually takes 20 minutes. However, on Wednesday, it took nearly an hour to cover a distance of around 4 km. Due to heavy traffic jams, some commuters also shifted to metro trains, causing a surge in crowds inside the trains.”
