Andrew “Bibot” Gotianun Jr., vice chairman of Filinvest Land, Incorporated, died on Friday, May 21, his family and company announced. He was 69.
"It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew 'Bibot' Gotianun Jr. earlier today, surrounded by his loved ones, after a short bout with a non-COVID malignant illness," Filinvest Land announced in a statement.
Gotianun, who was also director of Filinvest Development Corporation, was “instrumental in growing the Filinvest group into the multi-faceted corporation it is today and was a leader in the real estate field,” according to the conglomerate.

Tan, 86, is the chairman and chief executive officer of LT Group, MacroAsia Corporation, and PAL Holdings, the parent company of flag carrier Philippine Airlines.
The tycoon, along with his wife Carmen and children Vivienne and Michael, sit as directors of Philippine National Bank.
Tan has a net worth of $3.3 billion (P159 billion) and is the third richest Filipino, according to the 2021 Forbes ranking.

The economy is in recession, millions of jobs lost, and thousands of businesses have permanently closed, no thanks to a tiny virus.
But billionaires were shielded from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and are now swimming in even more cash while the world burns.
Rappler parsed through the financial documents submitted by the country’s largest companies to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) and found that some tycoons earned as much as 36% more than pre-pandemic times.
Specifically, we looked at salaries of executives of some of the largest publicly-listed conglomerates of the country, particularly SM Investments, Ayala Corporation, GT Capital, LT Group, JG Summit, and Metro Pacific Investments Corporation.

Dennis Uy's communications and entertainment arm is venturing into the online education space, through a platform which aims to provide certifications and skills training from the world's top tech companies.
Dito CME Holdings on Tuesday, January 12, said it teamed up with learning technology company CloudSwyft to launch Luna Academy, a platform which would give access to certifications and diploma programs from companies like Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, and Alibaba.
The platform also features blockchain authenticated digital certificates and badges, which are issued upon accomplishment of courses. These certificates can then be shared and added to the students' LinkedIn profiles and social media networks.
