Pierre Volunteer Fire Department gets new Engine #1
The Pierre Volunteer Fire Department got a new addition to its fleet of trucks this week. The 2020 Freightliner is capable of holding 1,000 gallons of water and has a pump capable of shooting 1,500 gallons of water per minute. The new Engine #1 replaces a 2004 truck. Chief Ian Paul says from a fire suppression standpoint, the new truck meets all industry standards and should serve the community well for the next 18 years.
