Tom Enright receives standing ovation at Wexford council meeting after Sipo report

Fianna Fail councillor Pip Breen says extra parking spaces will be available to beachgoers in Cahore and Kilmuckridge from this weekend.

COUNCILLOR APOLOGISES COMPLETELY AND UNRESERVEDLY OVER RACIAL REMARK A Fianna Fail councillor has apologised for using a racial term during a heated council debate on county planning. Local representative for the Gorey/Kilmuckridge area Pip Breen used the term during a discussion on the Planning Regulator Niall Cussen with councillors voicing their displeasure at the county development plan. Mr Breen immediately withdrew the remarks saying he knew he had overstepped the mark. On the Morning Mix, the Fianna Fail rep apologised completely and unreservedly for using the remark:

Councillors vented their frustrations over continued delays at Gorey Town Park during last week's meeting of Gorey-Kilmuckridge Municipal District. Sean Meyler from Special Projects gave an update on the town park and said that when work shut down due to level five restrictions, the contractor was two months away from substantial completion. As tradition would have it, members of the Gorey branch of the Fianna Fáil party gathered outdoors at Castletown cemetery to mark the annual Liam Mellows commemoration. Councillors Joe Sullivan, Andrew Bolger, Donal Kenny and Pip Breen paid their respects and held flags in honour of the fallen Republican hero, while a wreath was laid at the graveside by former TD Lorcan Allen, chairperson of the local branch.
