It looks as if we can count Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski as one of the players who is looking forward to the chance of working under Julian Nagelsmann.
After years of competing against Nagelsmann during his respective tenures at Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig, Lewandowski sat down with Sport Bild and gave his observations on what he has noticed from Nagelsmann-led teams overs the years.
“He always manages to raise teams to a level that you wouldn’t expect,” said Lewandowski. “The performance of Nagelsmann’s teams is mostly above expectations and above the sum of the quality of the individual players.”

Bayern Munich appreciates all that Robert Lewandowski brings to the table, but the German giants have not thought about a contract extension for the Polish Hitman just yet:
Robert Lewandowski has a contract with FC Bayern Munich until 2023, by the time the contract expires, the Pole would be almost 35-years-old. At talkSPORT, the English TV commentator and Bundesliga expert Kevin Hatchard revealed that there had been talks between Bayern and Poland about a possible extension. Lewandowski’s advisor Pini Zahavi denied this to Goal and SPOX and described these statements as “not true.”

Bayern Munich was thoroughly dominant in its 3-1 destruction of Werder Bremen. The score could have been a lot worse, but Jiri Pavlenka — and the woodwork — kept the game somewhat competitive. Here are some quick hitters on the match:
Not sure how Lucas Hernandez didn’t pick up an early yellow card on Josh Sargent in covering for a rare mistake from Joshua Kimmich.
Kimmich uncharacteristically had some early turnovers that he typically never makes. In all, Kimmich lost possession 21 times. The 26-year-old did, however, eventually turn it around and have a really solid game. His ability to control the pace and flow of the match from the midfield was a huge advantage for Hansi Flick against Werder Bremen — even with some early sloppiness.

Bayern Munich was not joking around when they visited Rome on Tuesday. The Bavarians made short work of Lazio in the Champions League with a convincing 4-1 victory in a match that was never close. Here are some quick hitters on the contest:
Bayern Munich really held control of the game early and all of that pressure eventually led to Robert Lewandowski’s early goal. That effort was part of a completely dominant first half for Bayern Munich. It might have been as impressive a stretch as the squad has had all season.

Bayern Munich Robert Lewandowski played a key role in Bayern Munich’s 1-0 Club World Cup-winning victory over Tigres UANL, but not in his normal typical goal-scoring fashion.
Twice, Lewandowski found himself in a precarious position offensively that played a role in his team’s offensive output. In the first half, Lewandowski’s offside positioning screened Nahuel Guzmán, which was nullified by VAR in what would have been a picturesque goal from Joshua Kimmich.
