Fire at Apple Store in downtown Portland
A fire was reported at the Apple Store at Pioneer Square in downtown Portland on April 16, as part of the unrest that followed the police killing of a man in that city.
According to
Willamette Week, the fire actually began at a construction site near the Apple Store, before spreading to the store itself. The report attributed the fire to "a small group of strident and organized activists who use property destruction to avenge police violence and the City Hall policies they see as abetting it."

Pamplin Media Group - Fire and gunshots: Portland police declare downtown riot

April 17 2021
A fatal police shooting spurred a nighttime crowd that smashed windows and set fires in downtown Portland on Friday.
Fires, gunshots and broken glass set the beat for a riotous evening in downtown Portland on Friday, April 16.
Portland Police Bureau officers made multiple arrests, while Portland Fire & Rescue crews were kept busy extinguishing at least a half dozen separate blazes, including a major fire that engulfed the awning and boarded-up windows of the Pioneer Tower building immediately adjacent to the downtown Apple store.
Demonstrators gathered in the heart of the city for two events: a peaceful vigil that saw candle-bearing marchers briefly shutting down traffic on the Hawthorne bridge, and a separate "direct action"-style protest that gathered at Director Park.

Pamplin Media Group - Officials urge peaceful Floyd protests, say police are ready

Officials urge peaceful Floyd protests, say police are ready
National Guard, Oregon State Police, others stand ready to assist Portland police.
On the eve of the jury verdict finding former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin guilty in the murder of George Floyd, former current and former officials on Tuesday urged Portlanders to keep protests peaceful.
The announcement came after nearly a year of protests of the killing of Floyd, sparked by video of Chauvin kneeling on his neck as the Black man died, pleading for breath.
Issued before the verdict was announced, officials' pleas at the online press conference were interspersed with warnings from law enforcement officials that police stood ready to arrest people committing crimes such as arson or vandalism.

Antifa Smashes Businesses, Sets Fire at Apple Store That Previously Promoted BLM

Some businesses have been bending over backward for some time to help promote the BLM in Portland, Oregon, perhaps hoping that doing so would spare the businesses from being targeted with riot violence.
Among those businesses has been the Portland Apple store, which gave BLM supporters a platform to paint a mural on the side of their building with BLM pictures and sayings.

Notice how they painted Breonna Taylor’s name and likeness on the mural. Her mother just blasted BLM as a “fraud” in a Facebook post.

Apple Store Looted and Trashed by Portland Antifa and BLM Rioters Re-Opens Behind a 'Prison' Fence

AP Photo/Gillian Flaccus
The Apple Store in downtown Portland re-opened this week after falling victim to “peaceful” protesters last spring. The see-through glass box sitting on a downtown street corner was shattered and looters “protesting” George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis swept the shelves of untold thousands of dollars in Apple merchandise and trashed the place. The Louis Vuitton store across the street was next wiped clean by looters – for “justice,” you understand.
The looting and destruction were just the beginning of 120 days of violent nighttime violence in the City of Roses.
