Are we being prepped for war against our will?

US President Joe Biden's invitation to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to a three-way summit in Washington, D.C., in April must be viewed primarily as a propaganda optic for Biden's reelection bid. The American voters are his primary audience. Given Biden's advancing years and occasionally failing memory, he must be seen by the American people as still capable of beating Donald Trump and leading the US in containing China's superpower challenge.

so a full moon high tide in excess of two feet higher than our normal high tide and another few feet of water on top of that. so our evacuation zone was a level a evacuation here in pinellas county, and a lot of those areas are completely inundated, and because of those tidal surges, the water's being very slow to recede. >> what are you hearing from emergency crews, from fire, from police, mr. mayor? what do you know about what's happened to your town? >> we had about 700 customers with power outages, about half of those have been restored at this time. so from a wind and rain perspective, we did remarkably well. the city was very well-prepped for the hurricane. this is nothing new for us, but the biggest issue now is waiting for those waters to recede so we can truly get a survey of the level of damage. and one of the issues we're dealing with is what i call hurricane tourism. we have a lot of o'people interested in coming down and seeing what's happened.

five hours in this hearing? >> yeah, simply because he didn't have to, rachel. i mean, his side could have tried to meet their burden of proof and it was their burden of proof today by putting in affidavits or calling other witnesses. but remember, he is a defendant in a criminal case and so anything he says can be used against him in that case. that is pretty treacherous. it's one thing for him to answer questions from his own attorneys. that could be scripted. that could be prepped. that could be tested. it's another thing for him to answer questions on cross examination, which is precisely what happened. so if prosecutors got something valuable from his testimony today, they could use it against him in a criminal trial. that's what is surprising. that he took the stand at all when he actually didn't have to. >> the hearing today did not end with the judge ruling. the judge has to decide whether the case will be removed to federal court, which is what mr.

sitting on their hand waiting for an indictment. is she right? >> absolutely, i mean, look,. he should have been prepping for a long time, the defendants should have had counsel, they should've been prepped, there is no question she is right about that. the problem with setting this trial, date even if it moves back to the summertime, it plays right into donald trump's hand. he is going to keep saying election interference. he is going to keep saying, i am off the campaign trail, i cannot campaign effectively. this is a democrat appointed judge, trying to prevent me from succeeding in my campaign for the presidency. and this is the challenge, right? when the justice department brings the charge, the president who oversees the justice department is running for reelection, right? this will be a whole different prosecution if joe biden were running for president, if donald trump were running for, president and works literally right in the heart of the primary, and eventually the general election season. >> yet there have been many looking at this and saying, the reason you announced your candidacy mr. trump, was because you are not necessarily running towards the presidency, you are running from an indictment.

really on the meat and potatoes. and, the government is handing over a road map, to the discovery, saying this is what's important, this is where you find. so, there's really no reason why a one defendant, four count indictment can't be ready, in january, when jack smith asks for january 2nd. this is not a two and a half your case. >> so, in the filing, the attorney said the government's objection is clear, to deny president trump and his counsel a fair ability to prepare for trial. i mean, do you know a lot of cases that need nearly three years of prep, and what's sort of the case for? it >> yeah i mean, if you had a, say 19 defendant case, with 41, 41 charges. i mean that's a big, case with a lot of defendants, and a lot of information that could take time. but this is, really it's one defendant, it's four charges. and so much of what's in there, trump has already litigated in 60 court cases across the united states, right. he has been litigating these issues for the last two and a half years, so he is prepped to handle all of these issues. there could be a very complicated cases, that require much more time. but i don't think this is one of them, this is a very, very streamlined case. and jack smith did that deliberately, right.
